A new kind of blog about Strength, Performance & the Philosophy that drives Water Men and Women.
Our philosophy is to acknowledge and enhance the connection between Human Performance and the Natural World with an emphasis on Ocean related sports. LIFT | PADDLE | SURF is not merely a training method, but a way of life that evolved hundreds of thousands of years ago when humans were more in-tune with the planet. We are simply providing a medium to explore, discover, and grow the ever expanding research that supports overwhelming evidence that proximity to the water improves Performance, Creativity, Health and Well-Being, and our connection to the Natural World.
LIFT: Pushing Boundaries
We understand the traditional purist is not interested in spending hours constrained in the artificial environment that has become synonymous with today's Fitness Industry. So, we go beyond the superficial and take a deeper look into how training the body physically can enhance both Performance and the Human Spirit. LIFT is about using evidence-based practices to push your physical boundaries in a controlled environment so that when you enter the natural world your potential becomes limitless.
PADDLE: The OHANA
Paddling in it's many forms is a long standing tradition in many coastal communities with the most well-known being the Polynesians including Hawai'i and Tahiti. We embrace the many paddle sports, but focus on Canoe, Outrigger Canoe, SUP, and Prone Paddling. These particular disciplines are recognized because they were born from cultures that honored OHANA - the strength of family and cooperation. We explore how paddlers use their connection with water to enhance Human Performance both physically and mentally.
SURF: Care of the Land & Sea
Traditionally, surfing is a way of life built upon love and respect for our Natural World. This is described best by a well known Hawai'ian saying Aloha 'Aina, Aloha Kai meaning, Love the Land, Love the Sea, and Only Take What You Need. Surfing is the balance between Mind, Body, and Spirit with our Natural World. We explore how this unique connection changes lives and can be used to encourage the growth of a new type of Athlete - the Adventure Athlete - who is more conscious of the connection between Humans and the Environment.
